Our Kickstarter still needs you - let's make a book together! View in browser

Let's keep it going, !

Now is the time to support us by ordering your books and rewards. Will you see your name on our Patrons page? Please think ahead to birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations where you’ll want to give something special. We’ve designed Meet Us and Eat Us to be a beautiful gift book, a fully illustrated hardback that you will be proud to own and can enjoy for years to come. It will always make you smile.

Meet our printers

Gomer Press in Wales will be printing Meet Us and Eat Us. Established in 1892, Gomer are a family company specialising in fine art hardbacks. They have produced books for the Royal Academy of Arts, the National Portrait Gallery and the Folio Society. We are delighted to be working with them. Enjoy a three minute video introduction on Gomer's website.

The book is currently in the hands of an experienced professional designer. The Kickstarter pages are just a preview, not the finished work. We're working with the designer to create a harmonious layout, choose fonts, and make the book ready for the printers.

See inside the book and share the link

Carrot, Chayote, Tomato, Pistachio: there’s a preview of images, poetry and prose from the book on our Kickstarter page. Please share the Kickstarter link widely and often to bring people on board our publishing adventure. Telling friends why you're buying our book really helps. We promise you will appreciate why we've worked so hard on Meet Us and Eat Us when you hold it in your hands. We're proud of it.

You can also support the campaign just because you believe in it. Our book promotes biodiversity, great food, and the power of consumer choices. It reconnects science and the arts. In the Support section on Kickstarter you can set your own contribution amount. We welcome any assistance you can give to ensure the success of our work.

Kickstarter is a safe and user-friendly platform, but if you have any questions or need some help email hello@meetusandeatus.co.uk or call Liz on 07944 872332.

What does Asparagus have to say?

Here's Liz reading the Asparagus poem from the book and the Kickstarter poem written for you at Paper Tiger Poetry in Vauxhall. She'll be reading the Tea and Tomatoes poems there on 22 March.

Read our Lime poem on the Histories Map

Lime was written for Meet Us and Eat Us, but we didn’t have space to include it in the book. Happily, it was the perfect fit for the Lancaster Litfest Histories Map. The poem takes us back to the age of tall ships, long voyages, and the discovery of citrus fruits as a cure for scurvy. Let your imagination roam free: where will you sail to? Read Lime here

We hope that Lime sharpens your appetite for the poems that await you in Meet Us and Eat Us. (Are you sure you’ve ordered enough copies? Maybe one more for a friend? Go on, take another look.)

Listen live!
